The set that contains all subsets of a given set \(A\) is called a **power set**.

\( P(A) = \{ B : B \subset A \} \)

For example, the power set of \( A = \{a, b, c\} \) is

\( P(A) = \{ \{ \}, \{ a \}, \{ b \}, \{ c \},\{a, b \}, \{a, c \}, \{b, c \}, \{a, b, c \} \} \)

The cardinality of a power set \(P(A)\) is

\( |P(A)| = 2^{|A|} \)
